BODY MASS INDEX
The body mass index (BMI) calculated through the height and weight of the person is used to calculate obesity.
Altough body weight is the most important parameter of obesity, this value is derived by dividing body weight (kg) to the squared body height (cm) of a person and is a decisive factor in diagnosing obesity and determining its level.

WHICH CALCULATION METHODS CAN BE USED OTHER THAN BMI?
Types of obesity according to fat accumulation:
- Apple-shaped obesity: Fat accumulation occurs especially around the abdominal region and around the internal organs.
- Pear-shaped obesity: Fat accumulation occurs especially around the hip region. The type of obesity with the highest health risk is apple-shaped obesity.
